Participants will further develop: (1) Conceptual understanding and the instructional awareness of the deep structures of language learning; specifically, Language Functions; (2) The urgency to enlist colleagues to support English Learners engaged in this cognitively demanding act; and, (3) A compilation of children’s literature to promote ongoing practice in using language functions and deep structures in writing.
